Czech Centres are an institute of public and cultural diplomacy established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
Their main mission is to support the good name of the Czech Republic and to strengthen cultural relations between countries.
As a cultural institute, they are a member of the network of foreign European cultural institutes EUNIC. They present our country in a wide range of cultural and social areas : from art to creative industries to promoting the achievements of Czech science and innovation. They are dedicated to teaching Czech abroad . They engage in international projects and serve as a platform for the development of international cultural dialogue.
Currently, there are a total of 26 branches abroad on 4 continents .
Czech House Jerusalem was ceremonially opened on November 27, 2018, in the presence of the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Since its opening, it has prepared dozens of cultural events focused on presenting contemporary Czech culture in various fields , including film, theater, design, music, visual and modern art, and other areas.
Czech House Jerusalem also actively collaborates with significant partners in the Israeli cultural scene , including leading cultural institutions, galleries, festivals, and educational organizations. Through these partnerships, it contributes to the long-term development of Czech-Israeli cultural cooperation and to the presentation of contemporary Czech culture in Israel.
