Dvořák, Smetana, Janáček, Martinů – Czechia can boast a number of renowned figures from the past, but what about Czech music today? Alongside the classical greats, the contemporary music scene has much to offer: jazz musicians, film composers as well as world-class performers. On the occasion of the Year of Czech Music, the Czech Centres and Radio Prague International present a joint podcast “Faces of Czech Music” introducing artists worth watching on the contemporary Czech music scene across different genres.
We invite you to listen to the podcast "Faces of Czech Music" from the work of Radio Prague International, where they show fresh Czech musical talents. In the first part, they interview a musician, composer and DJ Ondřej Mikula, who is known as Aid Kid. He is not only one of the most popular electronic musicians in the country, but much more than, what we can find out in the interview. Aid Kid is especially a great example of a genre-free musician thanks to his collaboration with the musicians of the Czech Radio Big Band, or his work on the soundtrack for the film Arvéd from 2022.
