The evening of geometric abstraction: The Acid Haus exhibition launched

On the first day of September the festive opening of the long-awaited exhibition Acid Haus was held. Dozens of people came to see the geometric abstraction of two young Central European artists. The space of the Slovak Institute in Jerusalem, where the exhibition took place, was completely filled - both with people and art.

Although the Slovak painter Ján Vasilko and the Czech artist Karel Štědrý also work with smaller canvases, the Acid Haus exhibition is dominated by giant paintings, some of which exceed four square meters. The entire Slovak Institute is now literally filled from floor to ceiling with geometric abstraction, which is the main mode of artistic expression of both painters.

In addition to Vasilko and Štědrý, the opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Slovak and Czech communities in Israel, diplomats and Israeli admirers of modern art. Among the guests were also prominent personalities, such as the former Israeli ambassador to the Czech Republic, Yoel Sher. The guests were welcomed by the curator Vladimír Beskid, the director of the Slovak Institute in Jerusalem Jakub Urik and the director of the Czech House in Jerusalem Robert Mikoláš.

The paintings will be on display in Jerusalem until 5 January 2023. More information can be found here.
